    3. Hi Stewart, I cannot see a connection but then I don't know how many children Robert and Marion had. My line comes from their son John born c. 1772 in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire. He married Grace/Grizzel Hainen (don't know her birth place) and only have info on one of their children son John Kerr born 1795 c. Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire. John married Mary MacNeil from Dumfriesshire. Johns children (one of which is my GGrandfather George Kerr born 1838) were born between 1826-1848, in Dumfriesshire, the same period as your Alexander Kerr. So my George and your Alexander could be 2nd cousins???? I'm not sure where Dalmellington is in Ayrshire. George a Shepherd, did however marry Deborah Dick who came from New Cumnock, Ayrshire and their first son John Kerr was born in New Cumnock, Ayrshire in 1860. Their 2nd son William was born at sea in 1862 on their way to Australia. Happy hunting Chris in New Zealand In Ayrshire searching for families Arnott, Wallace, Kerr,Muir and Dick (so far!!!) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stewart Davidson" <stewart.davidson1@googlemail.com> To: "fabiochris" <fabiochris@orcon.net.nz>; "Ayrshire List" <ayrshire-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 15, 2010 12:44 AM Subject: Re: [AYR] Muir-Kerr connection > Hi Chris, Lynne and the list. > > I have a Kerr family in Ayrshire but the furthest back I have is > Alexander Kerr born 1841 in Dalmellington to a John Kerr and Ellen > Williamson - any connections? > > Stewart >> Hi Lynn, >> >> I do not know if our families connect in any way, but I have a Muir and >> Kerr marriage in 1768 .
