    3. Hi Lynn, I do not know if our families connect in any way, but I have a Muir and Kerr marriage in 1768 . Robert Kerr born c.1737 in NewCumnock, Ayrshire married Marion Muir born c.1738, Burnhouse,Wiston, Lanarkshire on July 10th 1768 in Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire. Robert or Marion could have been Uncle or Aunt to your William or Jane. I have been told that Marion probably ended up in Dumfriesshire because many families in the Wiston area were involved in the weaving trade and moved to the Dumfries in the mid 1700's.
