If there is anyone able to shed any light on the HILLHOUS / HILLHOWSE / HILLHOUSE family between 1650 and 1750 in Kilmarnock and Tarbolton/Ochiltree I and many other HILLHOUSE reserchers would appreciate hearing from you. 3. Jenny, I don't know if you've ever searched the online database of the National Archives of Scotland, but here's a link that will take you to their welcome page, where you can follow a link to their search page. (I don't know why, but the same url appears for both pages while using the url always takes you to the welcome page.): http://www.nas.gov.uk/onlineCatalogue/ Once there, unfortunately, you can only search for one spelling at a time. I did a couple of quick searches and found the following number of results for various spellings of the name between the years 1650 and 1750. However, I did not read the extracts to see whether they are persons or places or what kinds of information are included in the extracts. Hilhous - 1 Hilhouse - 4 Hillhous - 1 Hillhouse - 38 There were no results searching for the name spelled with a "w" instead of "u".
