Page 99 The whilk day the above named young lads wer brought before the session and sharplie rebuked their for their scandalouse caredge being exhorted to forbear the lyke practice in tyme coming and to wait more strikely on the publick ordinance Delations John Gemill and Jonate Blackwood as suspect of fornication and for scandalous caredge together Isobell Saar for drunknes Session feb 23 1655 The whilk day Johne Mourchland and Jonate Gilmour being sumoned as suspect of fornication wer called and compeared not they are ordained to be sumoned pro tertio The whilk day Johne Gemill and Jonate Blackwood being sumoned for scandalouse caredge and as suspect of fornication both of them deneyed the same was referred to further probation The whilk day Isobell Saar being sumoned for drunknes was called and compeared confessing the same and hir sin being privat before a very few the session did think fit only to rebuk hir sharplie exhorting hir to sobrietie in tyme comeing Delations Agnes Johnstowne for drunknes Session march 1 1655 The whilk day John Mourchland being diverse tyms sumoned as suspect of fornication with Jonate Gilmour was called and compearing confessed scandalouse caredge with the said Jonate Gilmour bot deneyed fornication with hir the session finding they could doe no more for bringing him to a confession did take his oath as free of fornication with hir and ordained him to acknowledge the sin of his scandalouse caredge from the publick place before the congregation withal discharging any further fellowship with hir and Jonate Gilmour was ordained to doe the lyke which both of them did The whilk day John Gemill being sumoned for scandalouse caredge and as suspect of fornication with Jonate Blackwood compeared standing still at his deneyall the witneses being admitted against which he had no exception Rot Crafurde in Walsonne first depones that he saw John Gemill and Jonate Blackwood wes in the house together and that the dores wer closed and the fyre dark in the mean tyme. Bessie Worvell depons that she saw Jonate Blackwood and Johne Gemill on a Saturday at night be at together in the feelds and also that she saw hir with him in the morning at nyne hours on the lords day and that they came out at sundrie dores. After the deposition of the witneses the said John Gemill confesses scandalouse caredge with Jonate Blackwood in that he was leate in the fields with hir and that he wes in the house with hir to the saboth day there being non in the house with them and that they wer together on the comunion saboth bot fully deneyes the act of fornication.
