FTDNA has just announced a Summer discount on some of the DNA tests for new project participants. To receive the discount, new participants must purchase their DNA kits through a surname project such as the Gillespie DNA Project. The sale begins June 5 and ends June 25 - payment for the DNA kit must be received by FTDNA by the end of the day on June 25. Three DNA kits are currently on sale - 37 marker Y-DNA kit, 67 marker Y-DNA kit and the 37 marker Y-DNA mtDNA kit. The male line is tested via Y-DNA, the female line is tested through mtDNA. To participate in the Gillespie DNA Project a male testee must have been born with the surname GILLESPIE. All of the major Gillespie family lines have tested at the 67 marker level as there are key marker results in the 38 - 67 marker panel. I am not allowed to post prices at Rootsweb. The kit (containing cheek swabs for collecting the DNA) will be shipped within one week after payment is received.
