He came to Utah in 1910. His father is Joseph Barnes. It was recorded in the family records some 30 years ago that Annie Gourlay and John Barnes were his parents. However, recently I discovered from Joseph's Death Certificate that his mother is Elizabeth Candlish, from Ireland. So now, it looks like we have been following the wrong family line because we thought that his father, John Barnes, b.1811, son of John Barnes and Elizabeth Tait, was his father.
