    3. Hi Shanna formal adoptions in Scotland wernt legalised until about 1930. There maybe something recorded in the Kirk session minutes of the Dunoon church, these may have been filmed by the LDS and you can order in the film at the nearest Family History centre and go and look at it. In the census what was Alexanders relationship to the head of house ? maybe the Graingers were distant relatives. Have you looked on Scotlands People for any of this information ?
