    3. Margaret >From dates you have given for James and Sarah, you might be looking in the period 1790-1800 - if this was their first marriage. So with the two children still being at home in 1841, MIGHT SUGGEST they were the younger end of the family. Does the Census provide an age for them? If you look up the Old Parish Records, their marriage might be found. If you can't find a website, contact the North Ayrshire Local Studies Library at The Heritage (Email naheritage@north-ayrshire.gov.uk )Good hunting Mike Boyd Brisbane -----Original Message----- From: Margaret ELLIOTT via Sent: Tuesday, February 9, 2016 7:52 AM To: AYRSHIRE@rootsweb.com Subject: [AYR] Marriage between James BROWN and Sarah HAMILTON James BROWN was born in 1768 in Penpont. 3. If Sarah Hamilton died in 1855 then her death certificate should list her children and their ages..so the likely time for a marriage would be before and around the birth of the first child. Although a marriage post children is possible it's not common. All surviving parish records are online at Scotlandspeople...have you looked there?
