    3. Hi Trish. My Hugh REID married an Elizabeth BOYD 17 Nov 1776. The IGI suggests that she might be the daughter of John & Agnes BOYD and possibly born in Kilmarnock 22 Feb 1754. I have the will of Hugh which names all 11 of their children some spouses and some grandchildren. The will also suggests they had connections to the Kennedy bunch. (not necessarily by blood) There home was named Cultzeoun, and is just outside Maybole. Family legend has it that Elizabeth was partner to the heir of the Earldom at his 21st birthday ball. I can't recall the name of the heir as around then it skipped a generation, but probably c1773. I think that was before the Earl became a Marquis. Any ideas for me to help prove her identity. 3. Judy and others It will always "pay" to join the "named" Net list of both the family your are searching and their spouse's name as well. You are advertising to more people than just the Ayrshire list. It sounds like that "your Campbells" migrated to Northern Ireland at some stage after the Plantation of Ireland. So your Campbell's could come from either Loudon or Argyll. 2. michael paton
    3. Hi List I'm looking for George PATON born either about either 1755 or 1773 most likely the Kilmarnock area. This would make him either the father or the brother of my ancestor. George joined the Royal Artillery and was in until at least 1797. He married Elizabeth LILFORD, GILFORD, or RAMSAY depending on your source (second wife ?). The children I know of seem to have settled in Glasgow so he may have retired there. As I said, this might be two similar Georges mixed up. Any information to help me narrow this fuzzy wall down greatly appreciated. I'm also looking for the CLARKSON family in or near Kilmarnock around 1777. there was John CLARKSON, Mary BARR and a daughter, possibly two. Looking for connections between the PATON and GAMMEL ( verious spellings) families around Kilmarnock and Fenwick. I'm also looking for living descendants of Michael MURPHY Born abt 1887 in Stevenston to Michael MURPHY and Margaret KELLY. He married Margaret Douglas PATON b1887 in Paisley m1919 and lived in Androssan and Saltcoats area. Michael was a Coal Miner (explosives process) like his father. Michael MURPHY and Margaret PATON had at least one child b abt 1920 a male named M. MURPHY (Michael ?). He was alive in 1955 at the death of his mother and living at 5 Mayfield Place, Saltcoats. Thanks for looking Michael

She had brother's - names unknown to me - who were famous indian fighters. There is an researcher from about 1900 who put a lot of Boyd's entries in the IGI named "URIE". 1. [AYR] Roll Call - Stevenson/Stinson & Carsell/Carswell
    2. Andrea
    3. I am trying to trace the family of John Stinson/Stevenson who married Agnes Carsell/Carswell on 10th August 1761 in Stewarton, Ayr. Their scanned parish register entry for the marriage is of poor quality but they are listed on Scotland's People and the IGI as John Stinson and Agnes Carsell. John is listed as being of Whit... They are both listed as being "of this parish". The IGI lists them as John Stevenson and Agness Carswell for the baptisms of their children: - Thomas Stevenson, Christening: 15 JUL 1762 Stewarton, Ayr - John Stevenson, Christening: 15 JUN 1764 Stewarton, Ayr - Robert Stevenson, Christening: 15 NOV 1767 Stewarton, Ayr - Margaret Stevenson, Born C1762 Stewarton, Ayr (1851 census); Christening: 11 FEB 1770 Stewarton, Ayr; married John Dunlop 10 May 1808 Stewarton, Ayr - Agness Stevenson, Christening: 12 JUL 1771 Stewarton, Ayr - Agness Stevenson, Christening: 12 JUL 1772 Stewarton, Ayr - Mary Stevenson, born 1774 Stewarton Ayr (1841 census); Christening: 27 MAR 1774 Stewarton, Ayr; died 1841 - 1851; married William Aitchison 10 Mar 1797 Glasgow Lanark. I was able to find the baptisms of Margaret & Mary on Scotland's People. The image of the baptism entry reads "John Stnison of Wit[lie?] and Agness Carsell.." and Mary's entry reads "John Stinson portioner in Whit[lie?] [half cut off word ending in d] Agness Carsell." Would love to hear from anyone connected with this family or who might be able to help me to pinpoint the parents of John & Agnes Cheers, Andrea Fitzgerald

    3. In the Newmilns, Galston, Darvel, Auchinleck, Kilmarnock area are CURRIE, DONACHIE, LISTER, MEECHAN. The Gaelic names DONACHIE and MEECHAN have numerous spelling variations. The CARROLS are clustered in St. Quivox where they settled after immigrating from Ireland. I believe I have living Currie and Donachie relatives in the Newmilns/Darvel area. My branch emigrated to Illinois in the US to work at the lace mill along with several other Newmilns families (CONNELL, DOLAN, MCcLEARY, MORTON, MURPHY, POLLOCK). Would be glad to hear from anyone on any of these family lines. Nancy
