    1. Re: [AYR] Anyone here?
    2. Norma Roberts
    3. I was going over my notes on Agnes Janet Gemmill the wife of John Young and I show she could be the daughter of David Gemmill and Mary Young. There was an Agnes Gemmill christened Dec 7 1737 in Fenwick, Ayrshire, Scotland to David and Mary. In the baptismal record for son James it shows her name as Janet (crossed out and Agnes written above the name Janet) Gemel. Could be spelled Gemmel, Gemmill or Gemil. James is my line. === Below shows her: Fenwick Burials: 1807 Agnes Gemmel Widow of John Young in Cloich died 16th April. What do you think????Do we have a match???? ----- Original Message ----- From: Laurna McKie To: Norma Roberts Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 2010 6:34 PM Subject: Re: [AYR] Anyone here? My main names that I am researching in Ayrshire are McKie, Murray, Lindsay (Fenwick & Craigie), Wyllie (Ayr), Hendry (Symington & Kilmarnock). There are many, many more but I will list them another time cos I can smell my chicken burning in the oven. 1. [AYR] Murray-Dunsmore-Arnott ** It pays to take the time to look at all the Ayr or Argyle possible connections.
    2. kate
    3. Lynda is right. It pays to look at all of the roll call names. Sometimes you find one on the periphery of your search unexpectedly. I am at a loss with my Murray-Dunsmore-Arnott connection. My Grandmother was Catherine Murray Dunsmore marr. to Peter Strachan Arnott in the 1880's. I am lost beyond her father, James Dunsmore died in Sandbank in around 1938. His wife was Catherine Murray Dunsmore.. The Arnotts I have back to Riccarton. But the Dunsmores beyond Great-Grandpa are a mystery. I believe his wife and my g-grandmother was his second wife. The Murrays are also a mystery because I was told gg-gram came from Ireland but first shows up in Glasgow area. chris-kate

    3. Hi Everyone, The Roll Call is working well, so much so that time is needed to read each post carefully as you could miss some little thing that could pull your families in line. That is the reason why I personally want to open each and every post that someone has taken the time to forward to the mailing list. It is proven that any post you will take the time to read could possibly hold between the lines a stone that will bring down a wall that has become difficult to break. 2. Gerry Tostenson
    3. Mary Stevenson married John Gibson in Paisley in 1829. Looking for the death of John Gibson which I figured took place between 1847 and 1851, using the last child and the 1851 census. Also what happened to Sarah Gibson born in Dalry abt. 1847 and John Gibson born abt. 1835 in Dalry? Mary Stevenson parents were Thomas Stevenson and Elizabeth Irvine. Another child, Elizabeth married James Young and died in 1908. Anyone out there reasearching this family. All the Young children were born in Beith.

(There were various suggestions on how such an event might be improved in the future.) There were people from Norway, Scotland, England, Canada, various States form the USA and myself from Australia. I found about 7 new Boyd families from those that came along plus another 15 or so from Dorothy Arthur's book on the Baldmoney Old Church Graveyard. This Graveyard had a grave dated 6010. It could have been any churchyard in Scotland. For people on the Ayrshire list, County Antrim and Ballymoney, might be one area that you may need to look for your missing relatives in Ayrshire.
