Is there any researcher who I could respond with who finds the origin of Stewart Murray Fullarton's first wife, stated maiden name Rosetta Fullarton, quite inadequately detailed in the histories. If Rosetta was the daughter of the marriage of Colonel William Fullarton and Marianne MacKay (June 1792) she could not have married Stewart Murray Fullarton (January 1796)and the same year give birth to a child George (December 1796). At her death in 1814 she was recorded as being 37 giving a birth year of C 1777, at which time Colonel Fullarton was a 23 year old clerk in the British Embassy in Paris and Marianne Mackay was a 14 year old probably living with her parents Lord and Lady Reay. I have a couple of possible scenarios but except for the book of MacKay stating that Marianne died without issue nothing in writing that I have found to date. My Gilbert McHutcheon went to the Isle of Man in about 1731 and am hoping this might be the same Gilbert. This is one of my brick walls. Marny
