The marriage is pre civil registration and usually only show the banns/marriage of the couple and very unlikely that parents would be named. Your best bet is to either contact the family tree owner posted to ancestry.com for further info if they have the actual death certificate image from Canada or search out Windsor Mills, Quebec vital statistics and the Windsor Protestant Cemetery 1868 for information in regards to any information that they hold in regards to Adam's death . Also there is a lovely photo on ancestry.com of Sarah Farquhar and child Elizabeth Scott- linda Thanks Linda, and others who have answer my plea. Thank you all for giving some of your time and effort and (knowledge) to help me. My tree on ancestry is scottfarquhargunning the other is my cousins in Canada also. We have hit a roadblock with Adam SCOTT snr & Sarah Farquhars wedding certificate. Not on Scotlands people site.( I was hoping it would help me figure out which Adam from 1800-1812 was mine. Neither Diane or I have the wedding cert. I believe it was a piece of history passed down thru my grandmother. Without using ancestry or family search, I find it difficult to search Scotland. Adam seems to have just appeared, he worked in Lugar coal mine I believe and lived at Afton bridgend. Would any of you know which family history or historical society would be best for me to join? I know I am culflufold, I have everything I need on them in Quebec, its Scotland. By the way I am the happy, lucky person who received that lovely picture of Catherine & gr dau Elizabeth from my grandmother with many other wonderful pics. I am getting quite good at finding pics and finding out who nameless ones are. But Scotland.. Thank you Eliz'th Argall-Andrews Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Women are Angels. There was no Wylie that was a Lord Dunlop - I wrote the Lord Lion who is in charge of Lordships and he said no. What I have found out that there is a house inside the gates of the Dunlop Estate that years ago was called the Wylie house. At one time it was the old Hunt Hall for the Dunlops. I believe that the children traveled there when they were little and imagined their grandfather lived in Dunlop House that at one time was a castle. The problem was Alexander married an Irish servant girl and was disowned by the family. He (a silkweaver by trade) died around 1840. His wife took her children to Ireland to keep the Wylie family from grabbing them and turning them Presbyterian. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
