Hello Mike, The Lady Mary Boyd I have was b. 15 Dec. 1665 Kilmarnock and died abt 1677 Kilmarnock. So, would she be a part of the House of Boyd? Lady Mary Boyd1st cousin 2x removed of husband of 4th great grand auntBirth 15 December 1665 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, ScotlandDeath 1677 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland I have William Boyd, Fourth Earl of Kilmarnock who was the 2nd great grandfather of wife of 3rd great grand uncle. I suspect that he might need to be moved from his present place on the tree because once these relationships start going out I become worried. I have recently discovered the Boyd-L Archives and am wading my way through all the names. Hi Peter, I would love to have whatever information you have on these Irvine Boyds as they might be related to my distant Bruce Shields of Vermont and thus to me. William Boyd, 9th Lord is our 1st great grand uncle of husband of 4th great grand aunt who would be William Holburn b. 19 Sept. 1763 Titwood, Kilmaurs who died 21 Dec. 1835 Stewarton. Since I am not yet well-versed with these Boyds I have no idea if what I have in my tree is correct, so any information that is well sourced would be greatly appreciated. With Mary Boyd being married in 1794 would mean that she was not part of the Head of Clan Boyd, as the Head of the Clan was executed in 1746 and his son James Boyd in 1758 became the Earl of Errol and changed his name to Hay. In the 1600's you had a number of centres where Boyds lived. - Kilmarnock - Ayr (town) - Irvine - Ardrossan - and around Largs Mike Boyd -----Original Message----- From: Deborah Rea via Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2014 12:23 AM To: Peter STRAUSS Cc: AYRSHIRE@rootsweb.com ; SCT-RENFREW@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AYR] MARY BOYD Hi Peter, Could you tell me if Mary was part of the Kilmarnock Boyds? Neddy Graham was my grandfather, my father was his son, Mick Graham. My grandfather died many years ago and is buried near me. Is your mum Anna? Please get in touch, I'm sure we have a lot to share! I'm searching for information of John Lennox(1859-1912) who was born in Kilmarnock. Married an Agnes, had 3 chidren; George, Agnes & Margaret, all born in Edinburgh. He died in 1912 in Edinburgh. John was a brother to my grandfather George Lennox(1877-1962). I would very much like to contact their living descendants. Thanks Alan Sandercott British Columbia, Canada www.sandercott.ca
