    3. I KNOW that I should be replying to this through the Message Board link, but I don't have a password - that I know of - and don't plan to create one. At least SOME Message Board users will receive this. For me the problem with the Message Board messages which are gate-wayed to this list is that they usually arrive without a context and provide little incentive to find out what the context is. Therefore I usually ignore them automatically and don't find the gateway at all useful - owner, please note. 1. [AYR] Margaret CAMPBELL, bap. 1828, St. Quivox and Newton
    2. Duncan S. Campbell via
    3. I have Margaret CAMPBELL, born 1828, baptised at St. Quivox and Newton, daughter of of Robert CAMPBELL and Eliza(beth) WALKER. No marriage record has been found for the parents. Several years earlier, parents of the same names baptised three children in Dromara, County Down: Betty CAMPBELL, bap. 1817, Joseph CAMPBELL, born 1819, and Margaret CAMPBELL, born 1821. I would like to learn more about this family. Why would folk make the move from Northern Ireland to Ayrshire? What local industries might have attracted them - mining? others? Would Scots also go to County Down?

    1. Re: [AYR] Taylors of Troon website
    2. MARC ARCHER via
    3. List, I've found a website, www.ladyisle.com/taylor.htm which lists a Taylor family that arrived in Troon in the 1860s. I'm interested in this family, and the author of the website. The site must be somewhat defunct now because there is no way to navigate away from it. It mentions contacting the owner via the home page, but not way to get to the home page. I'm hoping someone will recognize something from the site to connect to the owner who I want to contact. Thanks, Marc Archer Ludington, MI
