I wonder if there is anyone who has claimed the Catherine McLACHLIN who appears in 1881 Census for Largs as a general servant with Dugald COWAN and his family at 71 Main Street. Perhaps she is one of my possible missing people. Would love to hear from any possible connections. Anne Maye.

Hi Folks I would like to thank this wonderful list for their help, support and interesting discussions. A special thanks to Nyle and Lois for their help in my search for John Arnot and Isobel Wallace. Its a great feeling when others join in to help and support knocking down those gene brick walls. I still have work to do to pin point Thomas Arnots origins but I have found Isobels parents, possibilites for her fathers father and her mothers parents so now have quite a few more surnames to follow up on. As well as that, from another branch I have discovered more family that come from Ayrshire. In a few days I'm away on holiday so will hold off putting in these surnames and will be unsubscribing from the list (in seperate email) and other lists for a couple of weeks as I'm not sure as to the capacity of my inbox. Kind Regards Chris

Page 16 Anyone researching HAMILTON surname know anything further on the Hamilton brothers listed below? They were born in Ireland - I have always wondered since I can't locate parents of my Arthur Hamilton married in Barachney to Mary Rennie in 1797, that possibly Arthur was b. in Ireland (?), since I can't locate anything on Arthur before his marriage.
