I have a marriage record from Dalry stating that Joxer: Margaret O'Neil married James Howard (my ancestor) on 4 June 1850. Further Margaret's death record in 1885 in Dalry states that she was married to James Howard and that her parents were James and Elizabeth O'Neil. These records are available on Scotland's People. Also on Ancestry.com, there is a link to FindAGrave.com for Margaret Curlett in Downpatrick, county Down, for 14 Feb. 1924. Hope some of this helps you find your ancestor. He started to give me information on the family but he is a bit short of breath these days and I had to put off the questions to a better time. He said the he was just missing a hand not the full arm, owned the shop/store at Annick Lodge and eventually bought the large house at Stanecastle, Girdle Toll which is now a hotel. I have a date of 1922 for one but I'm pretty sure they continued on there. The Andrew Gillespie that posted here in 2003 is likely to be part of the same family as there are a few Andrew Gillespie's that appear in the family tree. There's also a Kennedy too. 2. Irene Mitchell
    3. Thanks to Johan for posting about the free week-end at Ancestry.co.uk 1901 and 1911 Census for England and the 1901 for Scotland. It works fine from Canada, too. In the 1901 Census, I've found the family of Richard Carey (b. 1844, Ireland) in Civil parish: Barrhead and Levern, Renfrewshire, with wife Mary and 3 sons. At the side, it says this family is also in the 1891 Census, but you can't access the data unless you sign-up. If anyone has access to the 1891 and would be good enough to let me have details of this family, I would sure appreciate it. Also shows he was highly likely to be the Alexander born 1878, not 1885. Forms of Caroline or Karaline, etc are very rare in Scotland. There are regional pockets of popular given names not found in surrounding areas however I hardy ever see that one. Those other 2 names are boarders...Robert THOMPSON and Thomas CASHON however it can't be assumed that these are not related to this family. I'd be wary of CASHON, it might be a bad transcription as its also not seen much. Old Parish Records may show more CASHONs to confirm in Paisley. By 1800, Boyd had taken the last name of MILLER, and was involved in a London/Virginia mercantile firm called Miller Hart & Co. (along with a few other firms). In 1810, he married Margaret MONTGOMERIE in Irvine, Ayrshire, and they ultimately settled quite comfortably in Surrey. Boyd Darby may have taken the surname of James Richard MILLER (1744-1825), who married Harriett BROWN in Surrey in 1800. James and Harriett settled in Bath, Somerset, and James was a partner in Miller Hart & Co., which was located at Castle Court, Budge Row, London, circa 1800. W.
