I'm guessing....couldn't read or write, so the name went from Ayotte, to the phonetically spelled, Iotte. He had two children, Estella May b. 1900 and Manuel I think b.1903 in Cohasset Ma. Estella had 3 children, my mother, Uncle Sonny and Auntie Lorraine there's no one by that name on my side....I don't know of one on Uncle Manuel's side, but I don't know a lot about that family. Except to say that I think some of them have gone back to the original spelling of Ayotte.
