I have not submitted a query since the old Maiser list and we a number of new researchers, I am going to re-submit in the hopes that we will get a hit. I have an early JOHN or JONATHON AVERY that was born in the range of 1780 to 1790 in NC (according to his 1850 census). I first found him in GA when he married Mary Ann Kelly in 1827 but have no clues about him prior to that date. I believe he had a couple of sons and a daughter. I have only been able to trace William Avery on to S Ark and then to Louisiana where he left a whole herd of Avery people. William had married a Greer in Ga and a lot of Greers moved to Louisiana about the same time in 1851 that I have been able to trace. Anyone have any Avery family in SC between 1780 and 1790 or Avery or Kelly families in Ga in the 1820-1850 range? If so, I would like to review your family data even if it does not initially appear to be a connection. We may find one as we compare several family records. marvin ======================================================================= |marvin e owen | RESEARCHING SURNAMES: | |3036 brakley drive | OWEN, COLVIN, ODOM, AVERY, | |baton rouge, louisiana 70816 | HARDY, MARTIN in Clay Cty, Ala | |ph 504-292-0099 | HARRIS (Union Cty,Ark), SEALY(Tn) | |fax 504-296-5780 | GREER, GAAR, GAITHER, POPE | |e-mail marvin@intersurf.com | McKENZIE (Ms-La), BUCKNER (La) | |http://www.meocpa.com | RODDYE (Tn), COPELAND(Ms) JETER(Ga)| =======================================================================
