I have an Ann AVERY, born about 1787 in NC (think it was New Hanover County), who married John MARTIN. I have not been able to locate her parents...yet. This couple lived in Bladen County. There are several references to a Jonathan AVERY in the newspaper abstracts from New Hanover County, NC, for the late 1700s and early 1800s. If memory serves me correctly, he was a merchant.
