Hello everyone, I have recently discovered this list and though I am not aware of any family in America (found one recently in New Zealand though) I hope I am still welcome. My AVERYs are from Cornwall, Britain, initially. I have not got very far as yet but this is what I have: John AVERY born about 1821 in St. Sampson's,Cornwall and died sometime after 1891. Married Ann ???? born abt. 1821 in either Bodmin, Cardinham or Helland, Cornwall and died prior to 1891. Their children: Ann AVERY b. abt.1848, Thomas AVERY b. abt. 1850,John AVERY (my great grandfather) born abt. 1851 in Fowey, Cornwall, Peter Best AVERY b. abt 1854 in Fowey,Cornwall and married Emily HAMBLY Oct. 4th, 1879 in Leskeard, Cornwall. His descendant emigrated to New Zealand. Also Sarah A. AVERY b. abt 1857 in Fowey. My ggrandparent John AVERY born abt. 1851 married Mary Ann White JOSE 14th May 1871, at the Register Office, St. Austell. Cornwall. Shortly after they moved to the industrial North East of England in search of work. The Gateshead and Newcastle on Tyne area to be exact. Their children were:Sarah A.b.1877, Florence (my grandmother) b. 1878, Eveline C. 1880, John b. 1883, Louis A. born 1885, Arthur b. 1888, and Frederick b. 1890. Don't know if this will be of help to anyone but you never know. I am an English emigrant to Australia. Been here 30 years and am now in my 63rd year.
