I wonder if anyone can help me. I am trying to find Samuel and Lucretia Avery, Cherry Valley (Mohawk Valley)New York circa 1740. Their issue: 6th child William Avery b: abt 1750 married Deliverence 1775 They moved to Ontario (Elizabethtown/ Brockville) abt 1785. Their issue: 4 children born in New York, 5th child James born in Ont. (Leeds Co.) James then had 5 sons and 4 daughters in Ont. I am trying to use census returns to figure out some of the missing names- does anyone have any more information on this Avery branch? I wonder where they were before New York? I would surely appreciate any help or new directions for searching, that you might be able to pass along. Sheila Vancouver Island BC (my grandfather, father and brother all carry the Avery name)
