I am trying to find out more about James Daniel Autry, known as Dan Autry. He was my wife's grandfather. His date of birth I have not established. He married Mary Vaughn in 1901 in North Carolina. Based on this his date of birth would be 1880 or a little earlier. Their children were: Haywood, Len, Winona (known as Sis) Charlotte, Bertha, Jonnie and Hallie. His parents names I understand to be Van Autry, and Charlotte Powell of Cumberland county NC. He lived most if not all of his years in Cumberland and Hoke counties, most of the time in Raeford.
