Andrea... Leona... All... This brings up something that I think is rather important. The Autry book is the book is the book. If corrections and additions are to be made, they should be made in the form of a detailed annotation of some sort giving the source... and in this case Leona Adams would be the source... unless she provides actual source documents. I don't know if you are committing yourself to this sort of thing, Andrea, but if you are... doing it any other way would just give two conflicting documents and no idea of the reasons behind the conflict or if they are just a typing error or something. Please don't consider this to be in opposition to corrections, additions... and improvements of all kinds; it's just that if it's going to be done at all it needs to be done "right" and doing it would be a major commitment, not to be entered into casually. At the risk of not being liked very much, I'll go out on a limb and say that Andrea should not have to worry about this sort of thing, AT LEAST until she actually gets the book, as originally written, online and working. One thing at a time. One thing at a time. Especially since that first one thing is rather huge and difficult. RW JOHN D. I plan to put the book up in its original form first (and of course this doesn't make you disliked, Richard, just thorough. :) ) . And I agree that documentation is important. Let me finish putting the book up and we'll work something out to do with documentation and sources. People can still write to me, and when I get it finished I'll move onto the next step. -----Original Message----- From: Richard White [mailto:rw@pone.com] Sent: Tuesday, December 17, 2002 12:22 PM To: AUTRY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Important Caveat, was Re: [AUTRY] oops!
