That's the Daughters of the Republic of Texas who run they Alamo. They were solely responsible for saving it from destruction and for its preservation. The State of Texas keeps trying to take it away from them and put it under the auspices of (I believe it is) the Texas Parks System. I think that would be an insult and a travesty. They do a beautiful job, and I'm glad someone on this list found their efforts useful.
