Marshall: I am looking for any information on Mary Autry/Autrey, b. abt. 1795, d. 1888-1896, who married Joseph Darnall/Darnell, b. abt. 1783, d. 7 Apr 1856. I have not been able to find a record of the marriage and have no date for it; however, it may have been bef. 1813. I believe she is the Mary Darnell who married Euclidas Longshore on 10 Dec 1857 in Chambers Co, AL. Euclidas was born 23 Oct 1792 and died 10 Mar 1861 in, probably, Randolph Co, AL. There is a Joseph in the Tax Digest for Clarke Co, GA, in 1805, and for Putnam Co, GA, in 1815. My Joseph may have lived in Greene Co, GA in 1820, and was on the 1830 Census in Morgan Co, GA. He moved with his wife and children to Troup Co, GA, by 1840, and to Randolph Co, AL by 1850. Joseph died 7 Apr 1856 in Randolph Co, AL (not in 1850 in Chambers Co, AL, as reported in some sources). Barefield, Marilyn Davis, Historical Records of Randolph County, Alabama 1832-1900, (Southern Historical Press, 1985), p. 101, notice published in "The American Eagle," 10 Apr 1856, "Joseph Darnall, 74 years old, died in Roanoke on the 7th. Was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Was survived by his wife and children." If anyone can help with this family, I would be very grateful. ____________________ Bill King williamking@mediaone.net ____________________
