Hi everyone! Its time to do a roll call again. I like to try and get out my branch on the list at least once a year but I have been busy trying to prune the other branches before they get away from me. <g> So here I go: My family (husband) descends from Micajah Autry, son of Theophilus and Elizabeth (Crumpler) Autry. Micajah was born 1794 or 1795 in Sampson Co., North Carolina. He participated in the War of 1812 when he was 17/18 " he volunteered in Captain Lord's Company and marched to Wilmington when the place was threatened by the British. Afterwards joined the army at Charleston and remained int he service until the peace in the Spring of 1815." In 1823, Micajah moved to Hayesboro, TN, there he studied law and soon became a lawyer. He was admitted to the Bar in Nashville, TN in 1828/29. Micajah married Mrs. Martha Wyche Putney Wilkinson, widow of Dr. Kinchen Wilkinson in Davidson Co., TN on 25 Dec 1823. Micajah volunteered to go to Texas for their cause and to find a better life for his family and ended at the Alamo (in the stockade) where he died a brave fight with all the other men on 6 Mar 1836 against the Spanish army. After he died, Martha moved her family to Holly Springs, MS. Micajah and Martha had 2 children - Mary Elizabeth (born 10 Feb 1827 in Nashville, TN) and James Lockhart (born 8 Jan 1830). My family descends through Mary Elizabeth. She married James Madison Greer in Holly Springs, MS on 23 Dec 1844. I am looking for any descendants of siblings Mary Elizabeth Autry and James Lockhart Autry. I look forward to hearing from any and all Warmly, Sara Greer
