I don't know about Lewis Autry. However, my Awtrey's and Bankston's are as follows: Jacob Bankston Daughter is Araminta Bankston born Feb. 17, 1782, died May 9, 1861 in Dekalb County, GA. Married Isaac Awtrey who was born around 1776. Their children: Greenberry Awtrey, B 03/12/1803 Elizabeth Awtrey, B 1818 I've got some more info in a file and will forward it when I find the file. Elaine Spencer, if she is still alive, _FENSpencer@aol.com_ (mailto:FENSpencer@aol.com) may be able to help you. A few years ago I had the email address for a Bankston who was researching the Autry/Awtrey family. I will look for this info and forward it if I find it. Also, you will find Autry/Awtrey and other variations which may be the line you are looking for. Good Luck. Jim Pendergist (_JimPend@aol.com_ (mailto:JimPend@aol.com) )
Scanned copies of the family pages from the family Bible of Isaac Awtry and Arminta Bankston are here: http://www.htcomp.net/rrw/in2.htm My husband was a descendant of the oldest child of Isaac Awtry and Arminta Bankston--Elbert Awtrey/Awtry. Elbert was born in 1801 and his youngest sibling was born in1818. Greenberry "Green" Awtry was the second child of Isaac and Arminta.
