Years ago I wrote the Cooke County Library looking for information on the Green Schoolhouse and received this reply. Dear Jannine, I have checked further for you on Green Schoolhouse but no information found. Did find out that years back there was a deed recorded where a Tice Autry deeded three acres for land for cemetery and school, this is acreage where Walling Cemetery now located. At one time there was a school there but no Green was sometimes call "Hid-Out" was located east of cemetery and did have a church nearby. Perhaps at onetime it was called "Green Schoolhouse" especially if was school originally held in a private home occupied by family named Greene- someone related to Alice Green Autry. I have been looking due to the story i am inserting below told by her granddaughter when she was older so have been looking for a green school near the church and the cemetery.
