    1. [AUTRY] Vina Mae Meine
    2. I feel a personal loss in learning of the death of Mrs. Vina Mae Meine. We have lost an energetic family historian. Vina Mae was a great help to me in compiling information for the Autry/Culbreth book of 1996. I do not recall how I learned of her. She sent me many family group sheets. I would call her to straighten out problems and questions. I never met her personally but it was not hard to see her great interest in the Autry family. The obituary notes her association with the Texas Revolution. Many do not realize that the Autry clan were present at that time, other than Micajah perhaps. Vina Mae and Frank had a trailer, or motor home, and would travel to a place where she wanted to investigate family history and live there while she was doing her research work. She sent me information from her work in Alabama and Mississippi, much of which I did not have space to include. Their picture is in the book on page 344. I knew she had been ill but had not heard of Frank's death. We have lost a true "Autry cousin". I will miss her but appreciate having known her.
