"Ruth E. Simpson Autry Mrs. Autry, age 69, of Charlotte, died Friday, November 4, 2005 at her home. She was born April 27, 1936 in Union County, NC, daughter of the late Henry and Atta Belle Simpson. Mrs. Autry was retired from working as the bookkeeper for the Oasis Shrine Temple for over 18 years. She was a long standing member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especialy her adopted granddaughter, Lauren. Mrs. Autry was preceded in death by her husband, E. Ralph Autry, in 2003. A service to celebrate the life of Ruth E. Simpson Autry will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2005 at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, conducted by the Reverend Brian Biggers. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Survivors include her son, Edward R. Autry, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Robin W. Autry; and nephew, Mitchell D. Simpson, his wife, Bernadette Simpson, and their daughter, Lauren Simpson. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, c/o Oasis Temple, P.O. Box 560666, Charlotte, NC 28256.
