Listed on page 336 of the Washington, Porter, Indiana census there's a farm hand named John Autery with a birthplace listed as "Ireland". Has anyone else heard of this person? He was 35 years old at the time, which would place him born about 1825. He was a farm hand in the household of John and Hannah Hanford. Andréa
Could he have been the brother that was in the Army, the brother of Conelius and Absalom, was named John, and had inlisted in the Troy Army I believe, not sure , he was of some rank there. But no one has been able to pin point, that I have seen, that the brothers were from Ireland. Please anyone with info, PLEASE reply. Sincerely, P.
