Richard, No, I do not have copies of Captain John's military records. I also do not have proof that the exerpt from Ky Historical records posted regarding Giles is correct. I posted this information for researchers to read and evaluate as one must always do for himself to see if it "fits" and if it is "credible". As for my opinion. I am thoroughly convinced that Alexander Autry of Ohio County KY had sons named Giles who married Letitia Miller and Simon who married Martha "Patsy" Autry. Was Alexander a son of Captain John Autry? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. When Mahan Blair Autry wrote his book on Captain John Autry, nothing was known or written about Alexander Autry or son named Giles. Bundy and Brooks (Decendants of Cornelius Autry, Neil Culbreth and Allied Families, second edition 1996) added information on Captain John's family to include Alexander and a son Giles (see pages 105-109). Also a son Edward.
