Martha Ann "Mattie" AUTREY, da. of Absalom and Elizabeth (NORRIS) Autrey, was b. 1843 in Perry Co., Ala. She married Abraham R. REED in 1873 in Lincoln Parish, La. He was born 1842 in Kentucky, the son of Jonas and Susan (DYKES) REED. Abraham REED and his first wife, Celia, were living in Texas in 1869 when their son, Albert N. REED, was born. No other information on this family. Abraham and Martha had six children: Sarah E., Susan Adealia, Spencer R., Ida, Abraham and Mitchell B. I have very little information on this branch of the Autrey family and would like to hear from anyone with information which you can share with me. The only information I have on this family is from the "ABSALOM AND ELIZABETH AUTREY AND THEIR DESCENDANTS With a Section on Thomas Norris" by Jeanne McDuff Murphy and myself. I am referring to Absalom AUTREY, b. 1802 NC, who moved to Ala. with his father, Cornelius Autrey, and married Elizabeth NORRIS in 1826 in Ala. They started their huge family of 15 children in Ala., their last son, Charley Henry, was born in the new home they built when they moved to La. in 1847.
