I found a note online stating he served under Colonel Elijah Clarke- does any one have documentation of this, or know for sure this is true? Family detailed in book by Murice Steed and Jane Autry Armstrong. Records indicate that some of the grandchildren of John Autry Jr. (died 1844) sued David S. Autry and William B. Autry because they did not carry out the wishes of John's will. David was forced to sell 178 acres to John Burch to meet the requirments of the will. UNQUOTE.
