    3. Andrea, I know how busy, busy you must be but I do have a favor to ask of you. Sometime ago I sent in a correction to be made to my great great grandfathers marriages. I don't know who submitted the information but they were not very observant in their information. The page is 44 , my gggrandfather was George Autrey's son William, in the book it says that he was married three times, first to Francis Heflin, then to Ogretta Hutash, then to a Francis...... Here is the scoop, William was married only once to Francis Ann Heflin. Ogretta Hutash is the person in Cherokee County, Texas who is in charge of the marriage records there. How her name got mixed into this information I don't know. As far as I know she is still alive and putting marriage records on the internet. I know that this is an inconvenience to you to have to go back and correct something like that but it would certainly help future researchers. I can't tell you how much we appreciate the work you have done. Leona Adams PS Ogretta is the one my gggrandfather married I want to know her secret of longevity. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrea Autrey Marshall" <autrey@serv.net> To: <AUTRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 16, 2002 9:58 AM Subject: [AUTRY] oops! 3. John, It will never be a problem for me to make corrections to the book. These will be done as (parentheses) beside the original text. The original text will be left up so that people can see where mistakes have come from in the past. One of the reasons I'm putting this online instead of in book form is so that corrections like these can be easily made. If anyone else needs to send me corrections, please do so. I'll be putting the book up in its original form first, then going back through and polishing it by adding corrections. -----Original Message----- From: JOHN D. 3. Hi Marge, It would take me a really long time right now to go through all the Williams, but I can tell you that I did a search for "Lane" and came up with nothing. The book should all be up with a search engine on it in a few weeks - that'll make this a lot easier. Marge Garrett wrote: >Andrea, >I hope you're not getting swamped with requests for lookups. 1. [AUTRY] cost of Autry books
    2. Andrea Autrey Marshall
    3. I just went to higginson.com to check it out for myself. According to http://www.higginsonbooks.com/aaker-baer.htm, the cost of the Autry book is: AUTRY Descendants of Cornelius Autry, immigrant, of Edgecombe Co., N.C.; Neil Culbreth of Sampson Co., N.C., & allied families, by V. Mayo Bundy & Robert Autry Brooks. 1247p. 1996. $125.00 When Robert still had copies (he no longer does), it was selling for $50 a copy. Andrea

    2. <PRE>We made NO attempt to document any of it, as we state in the intro of the book. It was intended as a family history book. It would have been too long to include documentation, but our hope was that it might lead people to document their areas of interest. Robert Autry Brooks

    2. It would be easier for me to mail you the sheets on John C children. This info, like that in the book, came from people who sent it in . We made no effort to document any of it! I have only tried to document my own family. This is the main reason that the book was not copyrighted. Some of the data is incorrect and sometimes we put in two differenct opinions. If you want to see all of it, it would probably be better to wait until Andrea gets it all on line, as you noticed in the recent email. The only other sourece not is the libraries that the book was sent to, and copies from Higginson Book Co, Salem, MA. As you probably know they are excellent publishers of gen books. I think the cost is $100 plus, and they can be contacted on line. Hope this helps. Robert Autry Brooks

    1. Re: [AUTRY] John C Autry
    2. Dear Merial: I was pleased to hear from you. I only started researching this line this year, and thus do not have a great deal. I am only aware of five children for William and Mary: Newsom, John C., Eliza Henry, Elizabeth and Rebecca Ann. There may have been more of whom I am not yet aware. While they MAY have had a son named Archibald Campbell (Camel), the documentation I have does not reflect that this Archibald Campbell (Camel) was their son, but rather was the son of a previous Archibald C. Campbell (1) and his wife, Nancy. I show Archibald (1) father to have been James Autry, and James' father to have been Cornelius Autry, Jr. I did not have any of the information you sent on John C., so it was helpful by itself. I would be delighted, however, to share all of my information and to receive yours in return. If this is agreeable with you, I will work on creating a detailed report to send to you this week. Please let me know, and thank you for the information you sent already. Earline Long-Zlotkowski
