Hello Pam. Thanks for the compliment but I am not sure why. Forgive me for not realizing who you are exactly. Would you mind explaining a little more of why the compliment and who Pam is? Thanks. Mr. Henry... I have Autry ancestors from Decatur (now Grady) County, Georgia. Before they moved there in the late 1860s, the family was centered in Sumter County, Georgia. I don't recognize those particular names, but I do not know what went with one or two of my great grandmother's brothers... so they *could* be related. Can you go a generation further back, or at least say what county or counties they were in. jdbgmgr.exe is NOT a virus. Do NOT remove it. Messages like this are worse than a virus because it can convince you to remove required system files from your machine, thereby substituting a person's gullibility for a virus. They get you to destroy your own system all by yourself. The jdbgmgr.exe file is a Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java, a programming language. There are a variety of websites which list the current hoaxes. If you would like some links, please contact me off list.
Sorry, my first impluse was to protect people. The next time, I WILL check the virus site first. Hello all, Over the weekend I decided how I'm going to deal with any changes/corrections or additions to the book now that it's online. I'm striking through the original text so that it's STILL READABLE, and putting the new changes or additions in red with a link to the source that it came from. You can see examples of this at http://www.autreyheritage.com/autrybook/page1146.htm (for a new picture) and http://www.autreyheritage.com/autrybook/page0277.htm for an example of changes in text. I am starting to put in the changes that people have sent me so far, so if you'd like to send changes or additions to me at autrey@serv.net I'll add them to the queue to go in. Andréa
I'd like to remind everyone that they should NOT be sending forwards or messages of a non genealogical nature to the list. This includes messages like the one below, and the earlier virus message. -----Original Message----- From: Stan Giles [mailto:shgiles@efn.org] Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 12:54 PM To: AUTRY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [AUTRY] Check it out! http://employees.ford.com/js/stress/html/brand.htm ==== AUTRY Mailing List ==== Have you visited the Autrey Heritage page? Everyone meant well with this. Here's the summary: No virus, just hoax. Any other discussion of the virus hoax needs to be taken elsewhere. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ic.2ADI/1042.1 Message Board Post: If you are still looking for information on Augustus Backus I have some that might help. Part of it comes from the will of his father James Backus that has recently been transcribed and posted on the GAGenWEb project page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaharals. There are additional census indexes on this site also that provide more info. James was the second son of John Bachus (later Baccus) who migrated from NC to Morgan Co, GA in the early 1800's. John acquired land in Walton Co in the 1820 Land Lottery and moved there in the mid 1820's. James apparently married unknown about 1831 and had four children, one of which was Augustus. James married Lucinda Knight in 1839 and they had one child James Jr. In 1845 he married Adaline Autry and had possibly 12 more children. James and Adeline lived in Alabama (possibly Benton, now Calhoun) Co for awhile, then moved to Haralson County, GA where James lived for the remainder of his life. ==== GAGREENE Mailing List ==== Search the Social Security Death Index online for FREE! http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ The most powerful SSDI search engine on the Internet!
I noticed there's a stitching sampler being sold on ebay that was done by a May Autry. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2505001914&category=2223 I don't know if anyone is related to this person, but it might be a nice thing to have if you are. Andréa Marshall
You'll run into about 20 of those. They're census pages that I need to go back and fix all the alignment on.
