Excellent information on Mary Campbell and William A Autry from Juanita. Someone might be able to find a Campbell in Moore Co, NC, but it will be difficult at that time to identify parents and children with certainty. Do we know where Elijah Autry was buried? I assume that Elijah went to Carroll Co, TN very early, since so many children were born there, and perhaps he died there. But I have no documentation of this. It is interesting that William is the only known son of Elijah. This is unusual, considering the large families that many Autreys had, including William A. Robert Autry Brooks
All I knew of of Mary Campbell Autry came from Max and Evelyn Autry of Milam TN. They are the ones who supplied the cemetery name and picture of the headstone in the Autry/Culbreth book. To my knowledge, no one knows her parents. It is interesting that Cousin Norman Autry Smith told me before his death, that his GM Lula Campbell Autry, always used the name "Lula Campbell" and emphsized that she was not named after the animal! She was the sister of my GGF John C. Autry. So the name persisted. Perhaps it is a link of our line to the Scots?? I wear a Campbell tartan tie occasionally as a reminder of this! I also donated a book to the well known "Scottish museum" in Moultrie, GA, in her memory. There are lots of Campbell's so there is no shortage of possible connections. Robert Autry Brooks

Texas in 1929 in his late 70's or early 80's. If this could possibly be your Lewis, I have more information on him, including his death certificate. Thank you for any help you can give me.
