    1. Re: [AUTRY] George Autrey & Mary Ann Price
    2. From: Jim Pendergist (JimPend@aol.com) You may want to try a different spelling. I found the marriage license on my Great, great grandfather William Eldridge Awtrey and Martha Ann Ramsey under Ortry or Ortery. Jim P.

    3. I have seen on several sites the information that a Perry County, Ala., marriage bond shows that George Autrey married Mary Ann Price 26 Dec. 1825. But I have looked at Perry County marriage records and found absolutely no indication that they married in Perry County. Because George and Mary can be found in St. Clair County, Ala., in 1830, I also looked in that county's marriage records with no success. Jay Verett just told me that he had looked for that purported bond in the marriage records of several other nearby Alabama counties. And, he said, one of his cousins, also an Autrey researcher, had looked for it in the Alabama State Archives with no success. So has anyone out there actually seen a copy of this purported marriage bond with their own eyes? If so, I would really appreciate hearing from them. I would like to know the names of the person/persons who stood surety and the witness/witnesses on this bond and where I might obtain a copy of the bond, if it exists. Janey E. Joyce in San Antonio, Texas

    1. [AUTRY] Messages gatewayed from the Autry board
    2. Andrea
    3. Since I recently turned on gatewaying from the Autry board (any post there gets sent to the list), please be careful to send responses to message board queries to both the list and post them directly on the message board. Sometimes the poster is not on the list, but others on the list might be interested. I hope everyone's having a great Thursday! Andréa
