I don't know about Lewis Autry. However, my Awtrey's and Bankston's are as follows: Jacob Bankston Daughter is Araminta Bankston born Feb. 17, 1782, died May 9, 1861 in Dekalb County, GA. Married Isaac Awtrey who was born around 1776. Their children: Greenberry Awtrey, B 03/12/1803 Elizabeth Awtrey, B 1818 I've got some more info in a file and will forward it when I find the file. Elaine Spencer, if she is still alive, _FENSpencer@aol.com_ (mailto:FENSpencer@aol.com) may be able to help you. A few years ago I had the email address for a Bankston who was researching the Autry/Awtrey family. I will look for this info and forward it if I find it. Also, you will find Autry/Awtrey and other variations which may be the line you are looking for. Good Luck. Jim Pendergist (_JimPend@aol.com_ (mailto:JimPend@aol.com) )

I hope that one of you, or someone else seeing your postings, may be able to help me identify my gr-gr-grandmother's parents or siblings. My gr-gr-grandmother was Mary (Polly) Autry, b. abt. 1795 in GA, according to Census data, who married Joseph Darnell/Darnall before 1813. They were on the 1830 Census in Morgan Co, and may have lived in Greene Co, GA in 1820. Dau. Mariah married Rev. Bennager Goss; dau. Eliza married Young Taylor Greer; dau. Emaline married Isham Thornton; and dau. Martha married William Greer. These families all moved to Troup Co, GA by 1833, along with Callaways, Whaleys and other famillies, where they were associated in the County Line Baptist Church, near LaGrange, GA (very close to the present-day entrance to Callaway Gardens). Anything you can tell me about Autrys or Autreys of Morgan Co, GA, or any of these others, would be greatly appreciated..

The reference to Morgan Co GA is what sparked my interest in your post since Daniel Bankston father of Thomas Bankston who married wife ? Autry died in Morgan Co GA in 1811. Thomas Bankston and his wife ? Autry had their children in the late 1790's - early 1800. They were apparently married in late 1790's and Thomas died in 1849 in MS. He was administrator for estate of Simon Autry Sept 20, 1793. We must be reasearching different Simon Autrys. I can't help but believe there is a connection somewhere between our Autrys. Thanks for responding, David.
Hi David - just me again. I was researching the William Autry b: abt. 1856 in TN. Father was Sterling Autry. Do you have any info on this William Autry-where he went, who he married, children, etc. Thought I'd check him out for my possible line. Marg
I have some information on this family. Who went to Cooke County, TX. I don't know if this is related to your research or not. It's not much. Somewhere we have info on my Grandmother's family back to I think 1035 in Norway.

I actually am descended from Laura's marriage to James Wiley Richardson. My grandfather was their son. I have pictures of Laura, mostly later in life. I also have pictures of people that I believe to be some of the Autreys, possibly James B. and Cora. I have them saved as jpgs. I am still looking for more family of course, but have not followed the Autry line back any further. I'm sorry to ask this if you have said already, but your research is on Lula Francis and sister Anne Autry. Are they of this family? I have the 1910 Craighead Co Buffalo Township Census. James T. and Clementine are older and have a daughter listed as Joana age 15. James B and Cora L are liveing a few houses away with a daughter age 3 and son George maybe infant. I have no Yarbrough in my research but will keep eyes open. Hope this helps....Donna.....

Giving a geographic location would be very helpful in responding to such questions. My Autrey/Autery relatives live in SW Ala., but there are similar names all over the country.
