    1. William Autry in Hurricane news.
    2. Andrea A. Marshall
    3. I was reading the news and I saw this quote in a Scottish newspaper of all places. “"This is where our biggest nightmare ends and our next biggest nightmare begins," said William Autry, 73, who was trapped in water up to his shoulders at his home on the south bank of Lake Pontchartrain before a rescue boat brought him out.” (from http://news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1873262005 ) and also “William Autry was waiting to be put on a bus and evacuated west with his two dogs - the only possessions he brought as his house disappeared under the deluge. He and his wife, who became separated after she took refuge in their garage, were among the lucky ones.” I hope that wherever this William Autry falls into our family lines, his family knows that he’s being evacuated and is alive. My heart breaks for all the families who have been affected by this devastating storm. Andréa

    3. There is also a person by the name of William T Wittel who has done extensive research on the Autry's and Culbreths. Much of his work is listed in the rootsweb world connect page. He is probably the most noted expert on the Culbreths and Autrys. He is usually listed as wtw, and there are a few others, but they are all recognizable. -----Original Message----- From: Judi Spivack [mailto:JSpivack@sacbee.com] Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 12:49 PM To: AUTRY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [AUTRY] Need CULBRETH help Try contacting the Mormon Church in Odgen, Utah. 3. To locate a Mormon Family History Center, log onto LDS.org. You will find a listing of all the family history centers there. You can get anything that Ogden has at any family history center. Try looking in their catalog on FamilySearch.com > library > catalog. Lots of research info there. You can also look in your local phone book under churches, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Family History Centers. If there is a Family History Center in your area it will be listed there.
