I took Jim's advice and typed up a list A-Z of the last names, and for some, as suggested, I put in the patriarch of that line with a few bits of info included. Jim has successfully found, I think it is, over 50 match spots/individuals for his dna. I sent the list (forgot to change it to .txt file) to all 256 people (bcc blind copy), typing in all email addresses. (I can't just click at FTDNA because I can't fix my Mail Client default whatever). Friday p.m, took a break, big storm came, power outage for 26 hours (many many are still without power). Then I found that many could not open my list, so I sent it again to those, embedded in the email. Then another storm, Sunday p.m., power out, and again restored. Then Monday internet server was down. The wonderful thing is that quite a number have responded, several new family matches can now be fixed on certain spots on certain chromosomes, and after having my results for 14 months, I can see what the ancestral family is at several places. Out of it I relearned to Edit, Select All, Copy and Paste and now can send my chart from worldconnect Rootsweb, with names that can be clicked on. I've been keeping all matches on huge accounting sheets, one for each arm of each chromosome, and am seeing benefits from that and now it isn't hard to keep up with. Heavy sheets with 23 columns were excellent and could be taped together or can tape strips on bottom if need be. In addition to the major matches over 7.7cm or so, I include matches for 4cm. Small grid line paper pad could be used. I very much appreciate the help from Jim, from Tim Janzen and others. Mary Lou
