I have an atDNA match with a male ‘cousin’ with the surname LONG. This is the surname of my father’s maternal grandmother. My LONG cousin is at least 4 generations upstream from my Ggrandmother LONG, making him my 6th cousin (according to our paper trail). The FT DNA Lab estimated a 3-5th cousin relationship. This LONG cousin and I also share X-DNA. Does this mean we are connected in another way OTHER THAN through his paternal LONG line? My genetic line is: Me (female)>my Father>his mother>her mother (LONG)>her father(LONG)….and here the X DNA would be broken, right??
