Jim, I'm confused on how my distant LONG cousin and I could share LONG X-DNA. I totally get how it is passed from either parent to a child of either gender, but I just don't understand how this particular autosomal cousin could match me with any X-DNA from the LONG line. When I used my graphic, the X would peter out with my Ggrandmother LONG's father (I think.) My LONG atDNA cousin and I share a LONG ancestor on the outer row of the diagram, well out of the 'Zone' of X-DNA. Am I completely misunderstanding? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/46302517/X-CHromo%20chart.png I'm theorizing that we do connect strongly, but not JUST through the LONG line, as previously thought.
