    3. Can I please get some personal experience 'How long is Ancestry.com taking to report one's atDNA results?' I'm just wondering if it's 'weeks' or 'months', or if it greatly varies :( melissa

    3. For me it was both. Not trying to be difficult. I'll explain: 1. Sent in my original kit in November. In April (I think) I was notified the sample didn't work and I'd need a new one. 2. Sent the 2nd one around May 20, and got results on June 23. PLEASE NOTE: The first "kit" consisted of a couple of extra long, fat Q tips (well, ok, firmer than the cotton ends of Q tips, but otherwise very similar). And a ziplock bag to put them in. Seriously - that's all it was. The second kit was pretty much like the 23andMe kit: clear plastic contraption to spit into and then seal. The first kit was so lame I was shocked - and not at all surprised when I got back the "no results" notification. I am hoping they've abandoned that low-cost approach and are sending everyone the better kits now.
