    1. Re: [AUTOSOMAL-DNA] unexpected non-match

    3. For the THOMPSON who is my 3rd cousin (1R), the Shared cM is 75.25 and the Longest Block is 19.48. For the THOMPSON who is my 4th cousin, the Shared cM is 63.19 and the Longest Block is 25.65. The thing is, I tested the DAVIS first, and when we didn't have even a Distant match, I put it off to chance. The results for both THOMPSONs came back, today, and all three of us match exactly as expected (2nd-4th cousin), but now none of us matches the DAVIS, it seems to me beyond mere chance. It's taken years to find a patrilineal descendant of Isaac DAVIS to test, and now it's looking like he may not be one. To not match, at all, suggests a hidden adoption, as opposed to an illicit paternity. This would be even more of a blow to him than to me, so I'm not going to say anything until I've found and tested another patrilineal descendant of Isaac. I hope it doesn't take another eight years to find the second one! Diana > From: M. A.
