Hello Listers Can anyone point me in the right direction for the following information please? Some early marriages of family members from Jacob's River (Riverton) took place in the Mission House on Ruapuke Island in Foveaux Strait, NZ. My great-grandparents, Theophilus DANIEL and Elizabeth née STEVENS, were married there in 1853, with at least one other couple in 1854. As the Mission House is mentioned, rather than the church, I'm guessing that the church had not then been built. I found, some years ago, a photo of the Lutheran Church on Ruapuke. What I'm wondering is this: when was it built. When I'm writing small family stories, for those 'pre-photos', I put in photos of relevant churches, but don't want to add the Lutheran Church on Ruapuke for 1853 and 1854 marriages if it hadn't then been built Is anyone able to help please? Many thanks. Pam Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia
