    3. Hello Listers, I'm trying to help an email friend in England She says that Frederick William George FAULKNER served with the AIF in WWI and was awarded the Military Medal in 1917 for gallant leadership at Ypres. After the war, he married Catherine St George, settled in England and later died there, leaving a Will in which his wife is named. The marriage hasn't been found either in England or yet in Australia. I found the following on the Nominal Roll on-line: Frederick William George FAULKNER was a Bank Clerk, single, 19 years, which was, I think, when he enlisted on 12 (another says 19!) Jul 1915, so he was born around 1896. He couldn't have been much younger. His address was 154 Bridge Road, Richmond, as was his father's (initials WG - William George?). The entry had 'Acting Sergeant' beside it - no knowing when this was, but leadership qualities were obviously showing. It also said that his religious allegiance was Congregational. My friend would like to know more about him, in particular something more about his Military Medal, and also when and where he was married. I haven't found any likely birth in any of the States on Aussie Vitals (NSW, Vic, Tas, WA) nor any likely marriage for WG. Frederick is reportedly a grandson of immigrants in the 1800s, so apparently born here. Is anyone able to suggest avenues of finding these things out please? Is there another Mailing List that would be more appropriate? Many thanks Pam Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia
