    3. That was interesting Ken, I had a 2nd cousin Donald James MCDONALD who died in Hainaut, Belgium and is buried in the Charleroi Communal Cemetery. The date of his death puzzled me as it was 11 Feb. 1919!! There were Majors, etc. buried with him. I think I have now reached the conclusion that he died of Influenza?? What was he doing in Belgium so many weeks after fighting stopped?? His only other sibling Hilda Elizabeth MCDONALD had died in Christchurch New Zealand in November 1918 a few months before Donald. What an unhappy time for my great Uncle and Aunt. Only my interest in Family History has uncovered these tragedies.
