Hi All, I am after some Help Please... I have an Edward Baron LAING BN July 1851.Ballarat Victoria son of John Edward LAING and Ann PETMAN.... (Did he have any other siblings. New Zealand???? In 1861 John and Ann(nee PETMAN)LAING, unsuccessful in the Victorian Goldfields, moved to Otago New Zealand, where John bought a farm, in 1864 the family then moved to Dunedin where at the age of 13 Edward Barron LAING joined a Sailing Ship as a deck boy; After three years at sea Edward returned to New Zealand and worked the family farm at Otago for three years before joining an Antarctic Whale ship as a Harpooner Edward Barron Laing m 1. Elizabeth MCINNES 1882 Port Chalmers, New Zealand..there were three children born from this union..
