I am looking for information on Edith Gladys NOYES who, in 1929 at the age of 18, emigrated to Australia aboard the RMS Vedic. She arrived in Sydney December 7th, 1929 having sailed from Liverpool. Edith was born 14th June, 1911 in Gosport, Hampshire. The daughter of George Frederick Noyes and Ellen Annie [Bolding] and with the blessing of her family, left for her new life. Shortly after arriving in Australia, for reasons known only to herself, she cut all ties with her family. A search, a year later, by the Salvation Army located her in NSW, where it is understood she was still in Sydney; it was then that she re-affirmed her decision to have no further contact. Her sister Ellen Grace is still alive and, at the age of 94, still talks about her sister. It is very likely that Edith is no longer alive but if anyone had any information on her, I would be very grateful to hear from them. Regards Jean
